The methods of Biology Why does moss grow only in shady, moist locations? Why do earthworms craw to the surface after rain?

The question of the Brown Tree Snakes

The Scientific Method Steps Scientist use to gather information.

Scientific Method Research Hypothesis Experimentation Conclusion

Research The first step in understanding the problem the scientist chose. Think about the brown snake. What was the problem? What kind of research could the scientist have done?

Hypothesis A possible solution to a problem, based on knowledge and research. After the scientist discovered that there were no bird songs echoing through the forest and then seeing the brown tree snakes, what did the scientist hypothesize?

Experiment A tool that you design to find out if your idea about your hypothesis is right or wrong. Brainstorm about different experiments the scientist could have conducted in order to prove her hypothesis.

Conclusion A summary of the experiment’s results, and how those results match up to our hypothesis. Are you ready to practice the scientific method?!?!?!?
