7 Allow students to choose their own topics of learning or questions to pursue (inquiry). Allow students to choose how they will accomplish a task or how they will demonstrate what they have learned. Provide students with opportunities to learn or work at their own pace. Adjust the pace of instruction to respond to students’ levels of understanding. Adjust assignments for individual students based on their knowledge, skills or learning needs. Select topics, activities, or examples that are relevant to students’ lives outside school. 13 2015 – Key Activities Consulted with you on our Plan through 2020 Received positive reviews from ERO and CSO Invested in support of your children – Assets in support of our pedagogy $22k on ChromeBooks, iPad and other Tech $22k on classroom furniture – Teaching in support of your child(ren) Funded an additional teacher Additional ICT services and capabilities Thank you for continuing your financial support – Without this we wouldn’t be able to provide what we can

14 Focus for 2016 Our Mercy Charism Extending our relationship with the Sisters of Mercy, in this Jubilee Year of Mercy Pastoral Care Review the good work undertaken within our community in the area of Pastoral Care Science, Technology & Māori – 2016 Curriculum Review undertaken by the teaching team. 21 st Century Learning Focused activities to extend our learners in their development ICT Funding lead resource and continued capital investment 2016-2020 Strategic Plan Key actions to support our plan and providing opportunities for all Learners Succession Planning Board election in May – ensuring Board transition is effective

15 Community – Thank you Thank you for your support of our School – work with your children, extra-curricular activities you support, your time and your compassion 2015 was another successful year for the PTFA – Significant funds raised for the School – Pastoral Care extended to those in need Thanks to the OOMS gents for painting last weekend

17 Community - Funding Consultation provided the Board on sourcing and applying funds – As a result 2016 donations are at the same level as 2015 To support: – additional technology for your child(ren) to use in class; & – teaching staff dedicated to technology learning We established a “Digital Learner Levy” of $10 per term To enable: – Additional learning activities this year – incl. Mandarin Learning Assistant; and – Additional sport and “offsite” activities with reduced field We increased Activity fee by $15 per term
