Most importantly …

Keep it simple Keep slides short but clear Choose words carefully Use only key words and ideas Remember: Slides are not documents

Begin with a title slide Tell what presentation is about Tell who author is – and their company Tell when presentation was made

Choose one main idea ! Communicate one main idea Don ’ t argue or discuss

Keep each slide on subject Each slide must talk about your subject Example: Your presentation is called The Oil Industry in the UAE Use only slides about UAE ’ s Oil Industry Nothing else

One topic per slide Each slide should have only one idea More topics only confuse audience

Use same design in each slide Same background Same fonts Same colors Same punctuation

Use the “ 6 x 6 ” target Try to use a maximum of: 6 bullets per slide 6 words per bullet Break longer ideas into 2 or more slides A good target, not a rule

Use images carefully Use only photographs and images that help Never use photographs and images just to fill empty space Empty space is OK !

Avoid special effects Avoid many animated effects Effects don ’ t help reader understand One effect on a slide is maximum

Use a final slide to end Thank you for listening ! Enjoy using PowerPoint !
