WG2A meeting 7-8 October 2004 Register of the IC network List of sites in the register now finalised and sent to DG ENV (attached) JRC has compared the current list with planned submissions as presented by the Committee members in their meeting in late May (some differences observed) Any further problems with site list: communicate with JRC, DG ENV & national Committee members, Draft decision with the list of sites presented to WFD Committee on 28-29 October for final discussion Translations Formal voting in early 2005

WG2A meeting 7-8 October 2004 Error checking of site information and metadata (1) First error checking during site submission (e.g. numbers where required – vs letters) Second sense checking for locations/ coordinates –carried out manually as the sites were submitted –using GIS mapping system –sites in right country? –sites situated in the water body? –errors reported directly to data sources/ providers

4. WG2A meeting 7-8 October 2004 Error checking (2) Sense checking after closing date (now) –First check-up by JRC (P. Nõges ) –Database needs to be cleaned from obvious errors (numerical values clearly wrong, wrong GIGs or common types) –Still lots of data that cannot be checked centrally, but either GIGs or MS experts will observe problems when using data

WG2A meeting 7-8 October 2004 Error checking (2) JRC will carry out first sense checking Really obvious/ clear mistakes in the metadata (e.g. discrepancies btw GIGs-types) will be corrected directly For further errors, data providers will be contacted directly and asked for corrections (send corrections by email or if needed, re- submission of the metadata)

WG2A meeting 7-8 October 2004 Timetable Data providers contacted & corrections received - October Full metadata files available in early November IC-site metadata needs to be made publicly available (CIRCA, WISE-IC website) – discussion issue? MS in GIGs carry out further sense-checking along their work in November - February 2005 JRC/ EEWAI will keep error-log Report errors continuously (eewai@jrc.it)eewai@jrc.it If needed, JRC will made corrected metadata available in early 2005 (version 2)

7. WG2A meeting 7-8 October 2004 Other issues JRC plans to make an overview report of the composition of the IC network (October-Jan.) Will be presented in the next meeting in March 2005 Completing missing metadata & adding information? –GIGs decide if additional information will be needed –Reporting system is available for updating files Questionaire of user experiences is planned during this autumn Response needed for developing future reporting under the WISE-system
