2. S URVIVING THE TITANIC April 15, 1913 A year ago today I was helping other people into lifeboats while I got loaded into lifeboat six. The other women and I where helping keep the spirits of the other women and children up. I was very nervous but stayed confident for the other survivors. At about 4:10 the Carpathia arrived to come rescue us. It wasn’t till about 8:50 that the ship left for New York. I helped assist some of the survivors that were on the Carpathia.

3. O N THE C ARPATHIA While we where waiting on the Carpathia I helped start a survivors committee. I soon was elected as chair. I raised ten thousand dollars from the first class passengers. I would not leave the Carpathia until all passengers were with friends, family, or emergency help.

4. N EW F AME With my new fame I spoke about things that concerned me. I spoke about things such as woman's rights.

5. C ARPATHIA AWARD May 29, 1913 One year ago today as chair of the survivors committee I presented a silver loving trophy to the captain of the Carpathia and metals to all her crew members.

6. L ATER Y EARS It is the year 1931. Over the years since the titanic sinking I have done many things. I helped put the memorial up in Washington D.C. Later on I visited the cemetery in Halifax's, Nova Scotia and placed wreaths on the graves of all the titanic survivors. I am continuing serving on the survivors committee. I have learned that I have a brain tumor. The doctor say I may only have one more year to live. I promise to do great things during that year. I hope that the memory of the Titanic will live on forever.
