2  Stress can be either a positive or negative reaction to situations. How you react to these situations can possibly determine your level of physical and mental health.

3 ALARM STAGE  The body releases adrenaline into the blood stream causing a “fight or flight” response

4 RESISTANCE STAGE  The body is trying to deal with long term alarm stage; you are functioning at a high level and it is starting to effect the body

5 EXHAUSTION STAGE  After long term alarm the body starts to break down causing physical and/or mental illness

6 STRESS AND PERSONALITY  TYPE A- competitive, high strung personality who is more susceptible to illness.  TYPE B- low key, doesn’t let stress affect them as much.  PERFECTIONIST- nothing is good enough, stressed, and sometimes suicidal.

7 STRESS MANAGEMENT  EXERCISE  TIME MANAGEMENT  RELAXATION  MENTAL REHEARSAL
