2. What is the Quieter Home Program? San Diego International Airport’s residential sound insulation program. Reduces the impact of aircraft noise for homes under the flight path. Funded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Airport Authority FAA Requires reduction of inside noise level by 5 decibels Just over 1,650 homes have been completed.

3. How do they reduce noise? Replace windows –Standard Acoustical retrofit Aluminum Vinyl Wood (Historic Homes) Replace doors –Standard Acoustical retrofit Steel Wood (Historic Homes) Install heating, ventilation and air conditioning –Electrical upgrades (if required)

4. Who Qualifies? Residential Homes built before Oct. 1, 1998 With in the 65 dB contour –Apartments –Condominiums –Single family houses
