8 Personification The video camera is given the human ability to observe or watch/see.

9 Metaphor Life is being compared to an onion. The word “like” is used to compare the two.

10 Onomatopoeia The words “crackle” and “pop” imitate the sounds they describe.

11 Hyperbole This is a great example of an exaggeration. No one will die from having someone ask him/her to dance!

12 Simile The sound of the giant’s footsteps is being compared to thunder. Neither the word “like” or “as” is used to compare the two.
