Programme Advisory Group Established in 2015 to support and advise R-UNDG on: Policy, advocacy, and programme coherence Inter-linkages, coordination, and synergies Promotion, advocacy and support to integration of SDGs in programming -- at regional /sub-regional level, in support of countries Co-chaired by UNFPA and UN-Women on annual rotational basis Membership: 11 UN entities

Programme Advisory Group Key objective: to support R-UNDG in joint UN positioning in support of joint UN programming at country level, within the framework of 2030 Development Agenda Principles: Demand from and need at country level Engagement of at least 3-5 UN entities in identified thematic areas Reporting line: All PAG activities will be directed and requested by the R-UNDG Team, to which the PAG will have the sole and direct reporting line

Programme Advisory Group Roles and Responsibilities (AT REQUEST OF R-UNDG): Joint analysis and assessments on multidisciplinary challenges linked to SDGs; sharing data, analytics, technical resources developed by individual agencies; Proposing key thematic areas for joint advocacy; common approaches to advocacy and messaging within agreed thematic areas; advocacy products and events; crerate advocacy platform on SDGs. Support establishment of thematic partnerships and/or issue- based coalitions; develop common approaches on partnerships; sharing good practices and lessons; joint mapping of partners; strengthened coherence in RM and SSC.

Programme Advisory Group Membership: Regional Programme Coordinators/Managers + R-UNDG Secretariat; avoid substitutions; ad hoc participation of thematic specialists as needed Modus Operandi: 1 or 2 co/convening Agencies rotating annually; annual workplan to be approved by R-UNDG; regular face-to-face and virtual meetings per agreed schedule (at lest 3 times per year); electronic discussions; well-defined agenda and clear results; agreement by consensus or referral to R-UNDG for final decision, if no consensus achieved.

Programme Advisory Group Linkages : PAG to coordinate with RCM on substantive issues; Ensure coordination and avoid duplications with PSG and Thematic Groups. Direct links with: TWG on Social Protection; Partnership for Youth; Roma; CA Resilience Alliance; and Gender No direct link with: TG on Non-communicable Diseases and Social, Economic, and Environmental Determinants of Health; South Caucasus WG on Coordination and Information Sharing Potential for engaging with other regions – KS, SSC Engagement of PAG members – per capacity, relevance, and interest in each thematic issue
