2. United Nations inter-agency coordination mechanism. Provides the platform to address the cross-cutting nature of water and maximize system-wide coordinated action and coherence. Promotes coherence in UN system actions aimed at implementing the global development agenda eg. MDGs and JPOI. Facilitating synergies and joint efforts, to maximize system-wide effectiveness of support provided to Member States. UN-WATER MECHANISM

3. UN-Water currently counts 31 Members and 34 Partners. Members are UN entities including those responsible for major funds and programmes, specialised agencies, regional commissions, conventions, etc. Other organizations outside of the UN system are Partners of UN-Water. UN-WATER MEMBERSHIP
