2 WHO WERE THE ANGLO-SAXONS They were generally farmers who lived in wooden huts. Children here would not go to school. Girls would help around the home and boys would learn the skills of there father.

3 WHO WERE THE ANGLO-SAXONS Anglo-Saxons loved making things out of wood and intricate jewellery metalwork.

4 WHO WERE THE ANGLO-SAXONS We still here some of their words today like cow, cheese, wear wolf and goust. They even laid the foundation for the creation of England.

5 WHEN DID THE ANGLO- SAXONS LIVE The Anglo-Saxon age in Britain was from 410 to 1066, towards the end of Roman rule, Britain was being attacked by the Picts and Scots from the north, and the Anglo-Saxons from the sea.

6 WHEN DID THE ANGLO- SAXONS LIVE The Romans built forts along the coast to fight of sea raiders and Hadrian’s wall defended from the north.

7 WHERE DID THE ANGLO-SAXONS COME FROM The Anglo-Saxons came from Germany, Denmark and Netherlands. They rowed across the north sea to Britain

8 WHERE DID THE ANGLO-SAXONS COME FROM The ships had only one sail and many oars. The Saxons settled in arias of Essex, Sussex, Middlesex and Wessex.

9 WHY DID THE ANGLO- SAXONS INVADE BRITAIN Historians are not sure why the Anglo-Saxons came to Britain. People say that the warriors have been invited to come because to help keep out invaders from Scotland and Ireland.

10 WHY DID THE ANGLO- SAXONS INVADE BRITAIN Another reason for coming may be because their land was often flooded and it was difficult to grow crops, so they were looking for new places to settle down and farm.

11 WHY DID THE ANGLO- SAXONS INVADE BRITAIN The other reason for invading Britain might be that the Anglo-Saxon warriors thought that the Britons will be easy to beat without the strong Roman army around.

12 WHY DID THE ANGLO- SAXONS INVADE BRITAIN The last reason might be that they were driven from their homes by rising flood waters.
