3 NAROTICS DEFINITION NARCOTICS are Highly addictive drugs, that reduces pain, alters mood and behavior, and usually induces sleep or stupor. Natural and synthetic narcotics are used in medicine to control pain.

5 EXAMPLES OF NARCOTICS:
Examples of Narcotics derived from opiates (from poppy plants) include : Heroin Oxycontin Codeine Morphine Methadone Darvocet Dilaudid Lortab.

6 Synthetic Narcotics Synthetic narcotics are produced inside a labs to try and lower the risk of abuse and addiction. While the concentration and purity of natural narcotics are generally known, the street drugs produced in secret labs may have unknown ingredients, which can cause fatal overdoses.

8 STIMULANTS Definition STIMULANTS are drugs that speed up the central nervous system as well as heart rate, breathing rate, and blood pressure. Stimulants increase energy and decreases appetite. Stimulants are used to treat narcolepsy and some forms of depression.
