1 Ministerial Association Week of Prayer
The Little Whiles of Life

2 ARM YOURSELVES

3 What is the greatest challenge you are facing right now?
Would you be able to see blessings or benefits that came to you as a result of your going through that challenge?

4 So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude He had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. (1 Peter 4:1)

5 What can we do to make sure our thinking is right?
God allowed and even demanded that Jesus go through horrible suffering in order to make a way for us to be saved. What can we do to make sure our thinking is right?

6  Resist the devil 1 Peter 5
8Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

7 It is vital that we remember the nature of the battle we face.
Who the enemy is For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

8 Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
 Where our power comes from Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10  What the armor is Ephesians 6:14-17

9 Ephesians 6 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

10  How to seal that armor Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:18

11 WITH THE SAME ATTITUDE AS CHRIST
The most important thing for us in fighting the devil is the right attitude. What attitude are we to have? WITH THE SAME ATTITUDE AS CHRIST Christ’s attitude brought him to the cross but ultimately to glory. Philippians 2:5-10

12  Be humble and submit to God
 a self-emptying attitude putting our needs ahead of His desires  doing God’s will  Be humble and submit to God

13 1 Peter 5 6So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

14 The most difficult challenge most of us face in spiritual growth is in learning to control our own spirit. It is out of the control of our own spirit that we are able to follow the teaching of God on submission. WHY SHOULD WE SUBMIT?

15 We grow stronger through
submission. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. James 4:10 The road down leads up.

16 When we elevate ourselves we take God out of the picture
When we elevate ourselves we take God out of the picture. He never exalts us because we are trying to hard to do it for ourselves, thus being our own God. If you really are ready to grow for the Lord, it’s time to get down off your own little throne and quit trying to be king of your own universe.

17 Do you have on the right armor for the battle you are now facing?
Let God be God and let us be servants of His who serve Him by submitting to and serving others around us. Do you have on the right armor for the battle you are now facing? Remember God provides the armor, but only you can put it on.

18 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. 1 Peter 5:10

19 God Bless Us All
