As you begin your walk in Christ, know that the Bible is a “book of instructions” for you. It contains knowledge. History, prophesy, rules and instructions are all in this book. It is a guide for Christian Living. This slide deals with Rules for Christian Living.

Romans 12:9-21, tells us things we should be mindful of. These Scriptures are some Rules for Christian Living.

Be sincere in your love for others. Hate everything that is evil and hold tight to everything that is good. Love each other as brothers and sisters and honor others more than you do yourself. Romans 12:9-10

Never give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord. Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying. Take care of God’s needy people and welcome strangers into your home. Romans12:11-13

Ask God to bless everyone who mistreats you. Ask him to bless them and not to curse them. When others are happy, be happy with them, and when they are sad, be sad. Romans 12:14-15

Be friendly with everyone. Don’t be proud and feel that you are smarter than others. Make friends with ordinary people. Don’t mistreat someone who has mistreated you Romans 12:16-17

Try to earn the respect of others, and do your best to live at peace with everyone. Don’t try to get even. Let God take revenge. Romans 12:17-19

The Scriptures say, “If your enemies are hungry, give them something to eat. And if they are thirsty, give them something to drink. This will be the same as piling burning coals on their heads.” Romans 12:20

Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good. Obey the rulers who have authority over you. Only God can give authority to anyone, and he puts these rulers in their places of power. Romans12:21 and Romans 13:1

You must stop behaving as people do in the dark and be ready to live in the light. Don’t go to wild parties or get drunk or be vulgar or indecent. Don’t quarrel or be jealous. Let the Lord Jesus Christ be as near to you as the clothes you wear. Then you won’t try to satisfy your selfish desires. Romans 13:12-14

Welcome all of the Lord’s followers, even those whose faith is weak. Don’t criticize them for having beliefs that are different from yours. Whether we live or die, it must be for God, rather than for ourselves. Why do you criticize other followers of the Lord? Why do you look down on them? The day is coming when God will judge all of us. Romans 14:1,7,10

You must stop judging others. You must also make up our minds not to upset anyone’s faith. Romans 14:13

The Holy Spirit and Our Own Desires If you are guided by the Spirit, you won’t obey your selfish desires. The Spirit and your desires are enemies of each other. They are always fighting each other and keeping you from doing what you feel you should. But if you obey the Spirit, the Law of Moses has no control over you. Galatians 5:16-18

People’s desires make them give in to immoral ways, filthy thoughts, and shameful deeds. They worship idols, practice witchcraft, hate others, and are hard to get along with. People become jealous, angry and selfish. They not only argue and cause trouble, but they are envious. Galatians: 5:19-21

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. God’s Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. Galatians 5:22, 25

My friends, you are spiritual. So if someone is trapped in sin, you should gently lead that person back to the right path. But watch out, and don’t be tempted yourself. Galatians 6:1

Stop lying and start telling each other the truth. Don’t get so angry that you sin. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the devil a chance. If you are a thief, quit stealing. Be honest and work hard, so you will have something to give to people in need. Ephesians 4:25-28

Stop all your dirty talk. Say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say. Don’t make make God’s Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins. Ephesians 4:29-30

Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don’t yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude. Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ. Do as God does. After all, you are his dear children. Ephesians 4:31-32, 5:1

Let love be your guide. Christ loved us and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God. Ephesians 5:2

You used to be like people living in the dark, but now you are people of the light because you belong to the Lord. So act like the people of the light and make your light shine. Be good and honest and truthful, as you try to please the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-10

Let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong. Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil’s tricks. We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. Ephesians 6:10-12

So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm. Be ready! Let the truth be like a belt around your waist, and let God’s justice protect you like armor. Ephesians 6:13-14

Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet. Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Let God’s saving power be like a helmet, and for a sword use God’s message that comes from the Spirit. Ephesians 6:15-17

Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people. Ephesians 6:18
