Phonics Aims To teach students the basic ideas about reading with phonics. To show students that when they read with phonics, they can read words by saying the sounds that letters make. To teach students how to read sight words. Sight word is a word that does not follow the normal phonic rules. To show students how to use the dictionary to find the pronunciation of words.
