2 Maharshi Dayanand University (NAAC Accredited ‘A’ Grade)
Originally, set-up as an offshoot of Punjab University Chandigarh as its Regional Centre. Subsequently made Regional Centre of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in 1972. Established as University in 1976 under Haryana Act No. 25 of 1975 and named as Rohtak University, Rohtak Rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the great saint and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati.

10 Admission Process Admissions in B.Ed. Course being made at State Level by conducting on- line Centralized counseling. The term of counseling on rotation basis year to year among three Universities i.e. K.U.K., M.D.U., and C.D.L.U.

11 Affiliation Process The cases of affiliation considered by the University after receiving the recognition from the Central Body, i.e., National Council of Teacher Education. University deputes an Inspection Committee to check the infrastructural, instructional and other required facilities to run the Education Courses. After granting the Provisional Affiliation, the Extension/ Continuation is considered on year to year basis on the recommendation of the Inspection Report of the Inspection Committees.

Conducting Survey to get an understanding of demand and supply of teachers Setting up strict norms by various agencies of Teacher Education to prevent commercialization Coordination between various agencies Provide due importance to Teacher Education Proper admission criteria based upon Teaching Aptitude Integration of ICT in Teacher Education. Even with 21.1% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER), employable youth number limited Manufacturing thrust requires skills Low on employability, unsatisfactory quality of teachers, nurses, managers, skilled workers Computer and language skills improve service sector employability Need to remove tag of inferior stream for vocational training Need for formal certification of providers of vocational services Need for new courses with high employability and new curriculum Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), industry partnership offer new opportunity

19 Youth Centre for Skill Development
This Centre is developed for all Services and is already working on our premises since Sep., 2008 where we provide guidance/improve our students’ Communication Skills Personality Development Time Management Stress Management How to face Interview General Awareness Soft/ Interpersonal Skills For Selection in Defense Services/ Para Military Force 97 officers have been selected in Services from this Centre.

20 Visited National Academy of Construction, NAC Grounds, Cyberabad, Hyderabad
We have started a dialogue with National Skill Development Corporation, Block A, Shaheed Jeet Singh Marg, New Delhi for collaboration National Skill Development Corporation is going to present Skill Development Programme in our campus on December 18, 2014

21 A Committee consisting of Director, Career Counselling Placement Cell (CCPC) and Director, Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (IHTM) under Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor is in direct touch with National Skill Development Corporation for working out details and exploring the potential of possible collaboration through MoU

22 A proposal has already been approved in the meeting of Executive Council of the university for opening Community College in the university premises which can conduct job oriented vocational programmes under National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) for which we have visited Community College Ohlone, USA

23 We have earmarked 5 Acres land for Community College in our campus
Existing Engineering/ Degree colleges can also be used for providing vocational education by offering classes at flexible times B.Voc. (Vocational) course funded by the UGC has already been started at Aggarwal College, Ballabhgarh
