30 Cortitrol: Q&A Why does Cortitrol come in tablet form?
Better cost value Is there a difference b/w Epimedium brevicornum and koreanum? No. Both are from two similar plants but have the same efficacy, the same active component. TGA preferred we use brevicornum.

31 Cortitrol: Q&A Are there any known drug interactions?
If you are pregnant or lactating, have a known medical condition or are taking a prescription medication, or are allergic to any component of this product, consult a physician prior to use. Will coffee or caffeine negate the effectiveness of Cortitrol? No, coffee or caffeine will not "negate" the effects of Cortitrol; rather, Cortitrol would be expected to permit the "energy" benefits of coffee but without the "jittery" side effects.

32 Cortitrol: Q&A There are several hormones regarding stress besides cortisol. Why is Pharmanex focusing on cortisol and not the others? Cortisol is the primary stress hormone. When we experience stress, cortisol is the stress hormone that remains elevated the longest. Will Cortitrol make it hard for me to sleep at night? In some cases, Cortitrol users have experienced increases in energy levels and makes them feel more alert. We suggest taking Cortitrol in the morning, rather than the evening, which seems to help.

33 Cortitrol: Q&A What is the normal range of cortisol levels?
The "normal" range for blood cortisol levels is fairly wide, 6-23 mcg/dl, but these levels can vary tremendously in response to stress, illness, and even following meals.

34 Cortitrol: Q&A Any drug or medical interactions?
We have found that people are able to take Cortitrol with most medications. Just like all of our products, however, we do not know all the potential interactions with Cortitrol. As always, we must recommend that they discuss this product with their doctor or pharmacist who knows their prescription history. If you are pregnant or lactating, or taking a prescription medication, have a known medical condition, or allergic to any component of this product, please consult a physician prior to use. Consult a physician if you are taking prescription "anti-stress" medications such as anxiolytics, sedatives, or hypnotics. Consult a physician if you are taking other CNS depressants, tricyclic antidepressants, anti-epileptics, muscle relaxants, anticoagulants, corticosteroids and quinalone antibiotics. Use of l-theanine concomitantly with chemotherapeutic agents must be done under medical supervision. L-theanine may enhance the effects of doxorubicin, idarubicin, adriamycin, and picarubicin and may ameliorate some of their side effects (PDR for Nutritional Supplements 2001, Sadzuka 1996, Sugiyma 1998, 1999). This supplement should be discontinued two weeks prior to surgery.
