7 Intentions- Action= Squat! Intentions + Action = Will!
What is will? Will is our unique ability as human beings to align our intentions with our actions and choose our behavior. Intentions- Action= Squat! Intentions + Action = Will!

8 LOVE Will

9 What is love? Love (THE VERB): the act or acts of extending yourself for others by identifying and meeting their legitimate needs, not wants. Love is not how you feel toward others but how you behave toward others.

10 Service and Sacrifice LOVE Will

11 What is service and sacrifice?
It is what you do when you have made the choice to identify and meet the legitimate needs of others, when you have made the choice to love. You reap what you sow. The Law of the Harvest…you serve me, I’ll serve you. You go to the wall for me, I’ll go to the wall for you. When someone does us a good turn, don’t we naturally feel indebted?

13 What is influence? The skill of getting people to willingly do your will because of your personal influence. Influence is about who you are as a person, your character, and what you build with people through serving them and making sacrifices for them.

15 What is leadership? The skill of influencing people to work enthusiatically toward goals identified as being for the common good. The key to leadership is accomplishing the tasks at hand while building relationships. All of life is relational. The most important ingredient in a successful relationship is trust.

16 Who is the greatest leader?
How many can you think of? Talk to your table and make a list on your paper.

17 Why are they considered to be leaders?
Did they have power? POWER= the ability to force people to do something Did they have influence? INFLUENCE= the ability to get people to willingly do your will

18 Now it’s time to divide up the leaders…
Who was a leader because of their influence? Who was a leader because of power? Both?

19 8 essentials of leadership
Patience - Showing self-control and impulse control Kindness - Giving attention, appreciation, and encouragement Honesty - Being free from deception Respect - Treating others as if they were important Selflessness - Meeting the legitimate needs of others Forgiveness - Letting go of resentment Humility - Being authentic without pretense or arrogance Commitment - Sticking to your choices

20 Leaders do “hard” things…

21 Leaders do… Things that are outside of their comfort zone.
Things that go beyond what is expected or required. Things that are too big to accomplish alone. Things that don’t earn an immediate payoff Things that challenge the cultural norms.
