You solve for a unit rate by setting up a proportion in which the denominator is 1 and solving for the unknown.

110 miles / 2 hours = T miles / 1 hour
Solve for the unknown – T Miles traveled in 1 hour
Cross multiple
110 X 1 = T X 2
110 = 2T
