2 Journal: Let’s Talk About Making Decisions Tell me about a time when you had a big decision to make.. Maybe over the break?! What was the decision? What did you decide to do? Was it easy or difficult to decide? Did it take you awhile to make the decision? Do you think you made the correct decision? Why or why not? Remember to answer these questions in paragraph format!!!

5 State the Situation Identify the problem Think: How did the problem start/develop? Who is involved? How much time do you have to make a decision?

6 List the Options Write down the choices

7 Weigh Your Options Consider the consequences (or results) Positive and negative parts of each option Risks (chance of danger or loss) Short-term and long-term effects

8 Consider Your Values Beliefs you feel strongly about that help guide the way you live

9 Make a Decision and Act Decide what is best for you based on all of the information you’ve collected!

10 Evaluate the Decision Review the decision you made Did it work or does the problem still exist? Was the outcome you expected?
