Installation – Measurements

Measure Up 2. Block the screed 1. Level Ground 5. Lower mast to zero 4. Place screed in working Position 3. Pull forward to remove tow arm slack

Measure Up 1. Block height 2. Target center to ground 5. Target center to screed trailing edge 7. Mast lean back (- = forward)

Measure Up - Alternative Same measurements but after paving for several metres Screed floating in correct position All under working tension

Measure Up Horizontal Rear Mount Screed Which point do you measure to? Why does it matter? Target Right Rear Extension Left Rear Extension Main Screed Tow Arms

Which Point Do You Measure To? Must be the same side as the Target  Target

Why Does It Matter? You Must Bench the screed at this point Therefore: Must be accessible to Grade Checker Must be easy to repeat Must NOT change

Possible Points To Measure To The Following slides apply to: Tow Arm mounted Target and Rear Mount Screed Extensions

Possible Points To Measure To Rear Corner of Main Screed Pros: Never Moves, repeatable You can change extension width Cons: Cannot measure bench height here Offline guidance does not change with extension width Do NOT use this point

Possible Points To Measure To Rear Corner of Extension Screed Pros: Can measure bench height here Offline guidance is correct Cons: Moves with extension so you MUST set same extension width Cannot change width or Guidance and Bench are Wrong

Possible Points To Measure To Extension of Rear Corner of Main Screed Pros: Never Moves, repeatable Can change extension width Can measure bench height here Cons: Offline guidance does not change with extension width –But you can enter a Horizontal Offset that equals Extension width

Possible Points To Measure To Target Mounted on Screed Extension Measure to the Rear Corner of Screed Extension Pros: Never Moves, repeatable Can measure bench height here Can change extension width Offline Guidance is correct Cons:

Possible Points To Measure To Front Mount Screed & Target Mounted on Rear Corner of Main Screed Pros: Never Moves, repeatable Can measure bench height here Cons: Offline guidance does not change with extension width –But you can enter a Horizontal Offset that equals Extension width

Performing a Measure Up Follow the instructions in the Installation Manual They are very good Read them carefully! Don’t just look at the pictures
