2 Today, students will review an educational plan to prepare students for promotion requirements.

3 CAREER DEVELOPMENT Standard A: Students will acquire the skills to investigate the world of work in relation to knowledge of self and to make informed career decisions. C:A1 Develop Career Awareness C:A1.1 Develop skills to locate, evaluate and interpret career information C:A1.2 Learn about the variety of traditional and nontraditional occupations C:A1.3. Develop an awareness of personal abilities, skills, interests and motivations C:A1.4 Learn how to interact and work cooperatively in teams C:A1.5 Learn to make decisions C:A1.6 Learn how to set goals C:A1.7 Understand the importance of planning C:A1.8 Pursue and develop competency in areas of interest C:A1.9 Develop hobbies and vocational interests C:A1.10 Balance between work and leisure time

4 In order to meet promotion criteria, students must: Earn a minimum of 60 credits by the end of the 2015-2016 school year. Math Language Arts Science Social Studies P.E. Electives Maintain a 2.0 GPA for 8 th grade year Earn 17.5 credits per quarter

6 Credits are one of the primary methods used to determine and document that students have met academic requirements Credits are awarded upon completing and passing a course or required school program.

9 Most important academic record of what a student has accomplished. Develop a school educational plan. Advising students about their goals, options and opportunities. Help shape their future educational and career paths.

10 Math Tutoring: Monday 2:30 – 3:30 P.M. (Room 103) All Subjects: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2:30 – 3:30 P.M. (Room 103) Must attend 75% of offered tutoring per quarter to earn 2.5 credits.

11 Behavior No home suspensions during the last 20 school days No more than 7 days of home suspension during the second semester of school No attendance cuts during the second semester of school. Have not been referred to SARB for poor attendance Dues Must not have ANY outstanding dues (i.e. library, cafeteria, chromebook, etc.)
