1 Hurray, Hurray It is almost AP day!!

2 What is the test format? The test is 3 hours and 5 minutes long Section 1 is 80 multiple choice questions You have 55 minutes for this Section It counts for 50% of your score Content covers 1492-2000 ish! You get NO penalty for guessing so answer all of the questions!

3 You will then take a break! Be sure to bring high energy favorite food and water for that break. Use the restroom! You can NOT have any communication devices with you and don’t use any!!! Relax and get ready for section II!

4 Section II: Free Response!! You will have a 15 minute reading and annotating period. Be sure to ? the ? and use the ? to create categories as a potential organizer and as potential paragraphs! Jot down “outside info” in this organizer. Read, determine context and source significance, apply APPARTS, and use the documents in your organizer! Wait to open your pink essay answer packet until told to do so!

5 Breathe even more and begin writing Be sure you have a buff thesis paragraph. Be sure you answer the entire question!!!! Be sure to include as much “outside information” as possible while also critically using the documents to answer the ?.

6 Section II continued Write the DBQ essay in about 45 minutes. Write the other two essays in about 30 minutes each with about 5 minutes prep for each. Total time for writing section II= 115 minutes that you must budget for all 3 essays!

7 Section II Parts B and C: These 2 essays are about 27.5% of your score! Choose ONE from each group based on your knowledge!!!! In Part B, the 2 ?s usually cover topics from colonization to the Civil War. In Part C, the 2 ?s range from Civil War or Reconstruction to modern times.

8 So Bring by 7:30am to the Big Gym Pencils and black or blue ink pens A Watch (not a communicating device) Favorite healthy snacks and water Your great knowledge of all of US history Your ability to use that knowledge to present analytical arguments with clarity, logic, and sophistication. Your photo ID. We should have your AP Student Pack but if for some reason you do have it, bring it. (It contains the unique barcode labels you will receive at your first exam.) Relax and focus: You are prepared! Be proud! Have fun! Show off!
