2 2 Search Capabilities Search fields are available from the top of every page – Container specific searches possible – Each field links to a similar Search Form – Custom searches can be saved

4 4 Searching Any / All Criteria Option – When multiple criteria are used in a search, the search can be configured to return objects matching all or any of the criteria

5 5 Searching Calendar support for date input on time based search criteria Search for multiple object types simultaneously

6 6 Searching Advanced Search can be used to build search criteria – One type only – Search criteria can use hard or soft types and attributes – After an attribute is added to the search criteria, you can define the criteria on a specific attribute – Different types of attributes have different operators that can be applied such as “Equal to” and “Not equal to” Multiple criteria on different attributes are applied as ‘AND’ searches Multiple criteria on the same attribute are applied as ‘OR’ searches

7 7 Searching Search for Specific Attributes can be done – Advanced Search now allows searches for specific End item,Varaint,Serial Number etc. – You Can tick any one of the option for searching.

8 8 Searching Configurable Search Results Table – You can configure search results to show or hide attributes, set the order of display of the attributes, and set the multi-level sort order for the attributes in ascending or descending order. – The ability to configure the environment according to your preferences improves an overall usability of search, thus reducing the need for customizations – In Windchill 10, the following new search configuration features are supported: Results can include attributes associated with specific types of Windchill items (Parts, Documents, and CAD Documents) You can decide which attribute columns to display and in which order by specifying user preferences Note: You cannot save multiple table configurations or save a specific configuration with a saved search

11 11 Searching Actions on Search Results – In Windchill 10, the search results table includes a standard set of multi-object and row- level actions, available in both the Pro/ENGINEER browser and a standalone browser. In Windchill 10, the common, multi-object table actions are: – Add to Project – Move Add to Workspace – Reassign Lifecycles – Reset team – row-level actions are based on the type of object displayed You can now open a CAD Doc in Pro/E from the Actions link in the search results using a standard web browser

12 12 Searching Exporting to a File from Search Results – You can now export the meta data from objects included within search results to a file (XLS, CSV, HTML, text and XML formats) – Common applications like Microsoft Excel can read these formats and manage the results for other needs. For example, you may export the list of Change Requests and Change Notices for a PDMLink product over the last year to perform change process analysis

13 13 Searching Administrators can now create Saved Searches and make them available to user groups – Searches available to groups you are a member of appear on the Saved Searches drop down Windchill PartsLink Search – Windchill PartsLink search, called Classification Search, is added to the search page as a separate action – This action is available only if the Windchill PartsLink module is installed

14 14 Searching Exercise Perform a Search for business objects – Global, Organization, Library / Product specific searches – Perform an Advanced Search – Save one of the executed searches
