5 Punctuation Fuss Examples: Question mark?How are you? Full stop (period).I am fine. Exclamation mark!I am very late for work! Comma,I forgot to bring my lunch, my laptop and my coffee to work. apostrophe,I’m pretty hungry because I forgot my lunch at home.

6 Examples: I need to go to work now. In small groups, practice saying the above sentence using three different types of punctuation. 1. ‘I need to go to work now’. 2. ‘I need to go to work now’? 3. ‘I need to go to work now!’ What is the difference between each sentence?

7 Using full/complete sentences What is a ‘full sentence’? Make sure all your sentences start with a capital letter. Make sure they all end in a full stop (or question mark/exclamation mark).

13 Filling in (completing) forms Think of examples of types of forms that you fill in? Grab a marker and write an example of a form that you might fill in. Try to use examples from your workplace. What are some things you must think about when you are filling in a form? (eg Capitals, punctuation, spelling, formatting (date, address), colour needed – blue/black, all-caps, abbreviations – DOB) etc.

28 What are three of your main interests? Use Google to find three pictures/images and put them here.

29 What interests? This gives potential employers a chance to get an idea of the kind of person you are outside of work. What do you like to do? Sports, reading, challenges, computers, volunteering etc. Using complete sentences write down three of your interests.

30 What are references and who should you get them from? People that know you and can ‘vouch’ for you. For example, people who know you and your professional abilities/character. For example, a manager from your previous job, a tutor or teacher from your course. Does NOT include family members.

31 Is this a good CV? Why/why not?
