2 State Codes, Licensing and ITM Updates  One of the important responsibilities of Regional Operations is to identify and report new changes and adoptions to state and local codes, regulations and licensing within the boundaries of our NFSA regions.

3 Falls into our Job Description: State and Local Technical Assistance and Liaison  Establish liaison at the local and regional level with Authorities Having Jurisdiction and other organizations within the fire protection community.  Encourage the development of and participation in coalitions which directly or indirectly benefit the fire sprinkler industry.  Identify the potential for retrofit, residential, inspections, testing and maintenance and other NFSA market creation programs and provide appropriate technical assistance.  Identify issues affecting the fire sprinkler industry and participate in task force and study groups as needed.

4 State Codes, Licensing and ITM Updates  This is vital information to our NFSA contractors and industry stakeholders who need to train and educate their company members on new changes before they are adopted into regulation  This information can save our NFSA company members from huge financial loss by applying incorrect standards to onsite fire protection installations.

5 State Codes, Licensing and ITM Updates  For questions related to codes and regulations, contact the Engineering Department for the Manager of Codes.  For questions regarding updates to NFPA 25 Inspection, testing and maintenance, contact the NFSA Director of Inspection, Testing and Maintenance

6 State Codes, Licensing and ITM Updates 1.Go to the NFSA Administrative Console located at: http://www.nfsa.tv/staff Login using your user NFSA username and password. 2.Seek the State Code, Licensing, and ITM Update Section and press enter;

7 State Codes, Licensing and ITM Updates 3.Upon reaching the site, enter your nfsa.org username will be recorded automatically when you submit the new update form. nfsa.org 4.Enter the appropriate State in the corresponding box. 5.In the next box, enter the changes that are new to the appropriate State.

8 State Codes, Licensing and ITM Updates 6.In the following box, enter a brief description of the changes; Keep it brief but complete 7.In the boxes with the dates, enter the effective adoption or change date; Enter the date when a firm adoption date is announced and not after it is adopted. Early notice of adoptions and new codes are important for contractors and NFSA staff.
