NGSS: Next Generation Science Standards Update The NGSS can be found on the NGSS website, http://www.nextgenscience.org/next-generation- science-standards, and on the KDE website. http://www.nextgenscience.org/next-generation- science-standards http://www.nextgenscience.org/next-generation- science-standards There will NOT be a NEW state assessment for science in the 2015-2016 school year to allow teachers to focus on implementing the new standards. There will still be the norm-referenced assessment as there was last year.

3. Science Standards Evidence Statements Elementary & middle school evidence statements have been released this summer. The statements provide information on the “observable features of student performance.” They are basically targets for each P.E. to help guide lesson planning and assessment.
