3 National Conference on Tobacco or Health December 2003 Tobacco Reduction Policy As of May 31, 2002, through a phased-in approach, tobacco use is prohibited in or on all Calgary Health Region owned, funded or operated premises and facilities. Special considerations were made for:  Long-term care, palliative care, mental health and home-based services  Culturally related ceremonial use of tobacco  Other extenuating circumstances approved by the Region
