4. Advanced Editing of the STL File TINKERCAD.COM AutoDesk Meshmixer Both of these software packages are “freeware”. They read the STL file, allow you to manipulate it (smooth, add text labels, etc.) and save the result back out to an STL file.

5. Export to Printer The MakerBot software can be downloaded from their website. It allows for final scaling and vertical exaggeration and then sends the model to the 3D printer.
