Evidence “They Never Scream. They Expect Nothing … They Are Innocent.” In 1978 when Lopez was released from prison, then moved to Peru where numerous bodies turned up after a flood and he confused to evrey one of them. The Ecuadorian police tricked Lopez into thinking that a priest was his cellmate, Lopez told the priest everything he has ever done. His memory of all 310 murders were very vivid and detailed. He told the priest about every single detail especially how he lured all of the “good’ girls from the streets with the promise of gifts. He stated that he would prepare the graves for the girls and invite them to a “tea party” where he would rape them then strangle them. He confessed to the police when 53 bodies were found from a massive flood and that was more than enough information to put him away for a life sentence.

He received a life sentence with no chance of getting out in Colombia. Lopez spent 20 years in solitary confinement, after that span he was taken to the Colombia and Peru border and was released in 1998. They did this because neither country could pay for his justice. Currently his where abouts are unknown but people are hoping he is dead. “ I will be happy to kill again, its my mission.” “Monster of the Andes” No books or movies found. Facts

Labeling Theory I believe that the “Labeling Theory” best describes Pedro Lopez because this theory states that the individual breaks a social rule but are not labeled. When he was eight years old he was kicked out, when this happened no one saw him as a criminal. They just see a little homeless boy. Once he started to get into his killing phase of his life is when everyone started to label him a murderer and a rapist.
