2. What are Anticipatory Orders? Allows providers to order prn medications upon admission to the hospital Quick, one-click ordering includes medications for pain, nausea, sleep or bowel management where clinically appropriate

3. Goals To improve patient care by reducing delays in providing symptom relief related to prn medication administration. To reduce wasteful communication between nurses and providers related to orders regarding bowel, pain, sleep and nausea. To improve daily workflow for nursing and house staff related to the management of patient’s bowel, pain, sleep and nausea

4. Anticipatory Orders Appear After Admission Orders Are Placed In WIZ/HEO Admission Wizard Anticipatory Orders appear in right top screen of WIZ/HEO after initial admission orders are placed

5. Removal of Order Sets from Admission Wizard screen Please note order set links on blue Admission Wizard screen will be retired after entering admission orders. Please use ordersets by typing Keyword in Wiz/HEO.

6. Anticipatory Orders Available – Via Keyword Search in Wiz/HEO anticipatory orders Review orders to ensure appropriate pain medication regimen. For example, multiple pain medications and when to use.

7. Order Sets Are Still Available by Keyword Search or Clicking End Click end to access common orders by floor or enter keyword search for specific order sets

8.
