5. Answer The longest river in PA is the Susquehanna River. It begins in New Yorks and ends in the Chesapeake Bay. Tributaries: West Branch and Juaniata River

7. Answer The largest river system in PA is the Ohio River System. It joins with the Mississippi River and empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Tributaries: Allegheny and Monongahela River

25. Answer Forests are a renewable natural resource located in the Allegheny Plateau and Ridge and Valley regions. PA values this resource, and has set aside more forests for public use than any other state in the Northeast region. We use our forests to prevent erosion and for oxygen, recreation, and wood products.

27. Answer Fossil fuels are a non-renewable natural resource. Fossil fuels can be solid (coal), liquid (oil), or gas (natural gas). Fossil fuels are mined or pumped from the earth. We use them to make steel and produce electricity (coal), to make motor oil (oil), and to heat homes and industries (natural gas).

29. Answer An occupation is a job done to earn money. People in our state may work in service or industry. Those who work in industry make, sell, or move products and services. Those who work in service provide services to others.
