1. A Day in the Life of a Neanderthal

2. This is Chavo. He is your average male neanderthal, and this is how he spends his day.

3. First thing in the morning, Chavo wakes up to a beautiful view of a European morning out of the cave he shares with his family.

4. For breakfast Chavo shares a lovely meal of meat with his family. Neanderthals were big meat eaters, maybe up to 80% of their diet being meat.

5. Then Chavo takes a little me time to put on his makeup. No joke, remnants of shells found in neanderthal caves were found to have traces of a compound similar to what ancient Egyptians used as makeup. Neanderthals had rituals, such as burying their dead with flowers, so it makes sense to speculate that Chavo might have been the world’s first metrosexual.

6. After putting on his makeup, Chavo has a good look at his reflection. He’s a bit self centred. He sees a short, robust man who’s heavily built for a life of hunting and cold harsh climates. He looks slightly like a modern European. Chavo hasn’t got the handsomest face, with a heavy brow due to his protruding brow bone, and a very large nose for humidifying cold air.

7. Chavo then spends his day out with his friends, hunting for food for his family. Neanderthals were sophisticated hunters, using weapons and showing great skill to catch their food.

8. After a long day of hard work, Chavo likes to kick back and have a relax in his spa and listen to his iPod. Lol jokes....

9. Unfortunately Homo Neanderthalensis died out approximately 30 000 years ago. RIP Chavo. You’ll be missed. :’(
