2 Seite 2 Strategic Objectives of LIVE The central idea of Live is to create:  Novel Content Production Methods  Tools for Interactive Digital Broadcasters  New ITV video formats and services to stage Live Media Events such as the 2008 Olympic Games.

4 Seite 4 LIVE: Motivation and Overall Goals  Live formats and content get more and more important for Broadcasters  Broadcasters want to keep the TV consumers on their channels  When the consumer wants to zap to another program he should keep on the channel of the same broadcaster  Consumer should influence the content authoring (new concepts for content creation are required)

5 Seite 5 LIVE: Concrete Innovation and Contribution  Content Innovations:  New formats and services for ITV  Especially for live production of television content  Technical Innovations:  Methods and tools for media annotation: interactive live annotation of multi-stream video show (combination of automatic and human annotation in realtime)  Direct and fast linking of different media sources and streams (direct access to archive material)  User preferences and behaviour will influence the authoring (intelligent feedback channel)  Intelligent media objects

6 Seite 6 Dissemination Strategies 2006 - 2007 The project is targeting the broadcast business. Project has just started. => A first draft dissemination plan is scheduled for March 2006 First integrated prototype is planned after 15 month (03/2007) => Participations to exhibitions make more sense in 2007 (e.g. IBC 2007) Real field trial at the Olympics 2008 ! Other field trials before and after the Olympics 2008
