3 STAY THE COURSE! GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  Minimum 30 Credits overall!  Five - 40S/G courses to graduate (including PE)  Six - 40S courses to go to most Universities (including PE)

4 GOING TO UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE? Be aware of deadlines! You can check the specific website for the university of college You can check the Graduation and Scholarship tab on the Bruns Website, or You can book an appointment with Ms. Kuorikoski in the Student Center to review

6 VALEDICTORIAN PROCESS Step 1 Nominations (Will send out a text via remind in the near future for you to submit your nomination) When choosing a nomination, consider the following:  Valedictorians are the featured speaker at the official, formal graduation ceremony.  The valedictorian speaks on behalf of the graduating class to the graduating class and the assembled guests including dignitaries, school division and board members, administrators, teachers, parents, grandparents, friends and family.  The valedictorian must be comfortable speaking in front of a large crowd, and be prepared to write, rehearse, and present his or her speech.  The valedictorian is an individual who best represents the graduating class. Future Steps (Dates TBA) Writing and practising a section of speech Performing a section in front of a panel of grade 11 students and teachers Narrowing the field Performing a section for the Grade 12 Vote

7 GRAD PICTURES GRAD PHOTOS will be taken at the school on the following dates: Feb. 29, March 1 - 4 and March 7 - 10, 2016. Sign up using the conference manager online (see below) Retakes will take place April 18 - 21, 2016.

8 DIPLOMA AND GRAD FORM 1.Verify spelling of name 2.Select size of gown Once you have completed the form, resubmit it to your homeroom teacher.

9 CONVOCATION QUIPS & YEARBOOK QUOTES Convocation Quips – Due: February 25 th the phrase that accompanies you across the stage at convocation. audience—your parents, grandparents, others You must type out on computer in office 112 on or before the 25 th. Yearbook Quotes & Baby Photos – Due May 3 rd the phrase that goes in the Yearbook Audience—your peers—but remember, it will be there forever! You must see Mr. Fershau, and type out your quote in room 209 on or before May 3 rd.

10 DINNER/DANCE & SAFE GRAD CONVOCATION INFO AND MORE April 14 th – Next Grad Meeting Students – AM & Parents – PM June 24 th – Dinner/Dance/Safe Grad banquet opens at 6pm & Dinner at 7pm) June 27 th – Convocation Arrive at 11:45am & Convocation starts at 1pm Much more information in the Pamphlet!
