2 GSC16-PLEN-43 Halifax, 31 Oct – 3 Nov 2011ICT Accessibility For All Highlight of Current Activities Two projects are in progress in 3GPP2 to support interworking and IP level convergence –TIA-1163-B: E-UTRAN – e (evolved) HRPD Connectivity and Interworking: Core Network Aspects: Will provide interworking with to 3GPP Rel 10 (LTE) –TIA-1163-A already provides interworking with 3GPP release 9 –TIA-1163-2 already provides interworking with 3GPP Release 8. –TIA-1164-2: WiMAX- HRPD Interworking: Core Network Aspects Will provide bug fixes for earlier versions of TIA-1164. 2

5 GSC16-PLEN-43 Halifax, 31 Oct – 3 Nov 2011ICT Accessibility For All Strategic Direction Close collaboration between 3GPP2 and both 3GPP and WiMAX Forum is in place to support Interoperability and Interworking Maintain and enhance the core network specifications (MAP, cdma2000® Packet Data Network, eHRPD) Collaborate with Femto Forum and Broadband Forum, through the 3GPP2 relationship, on Femto specifications Work with ITU-T –Provide ITU-T with updates to Q.1742.8 –Liaise with ITU-T on Femto, Cell Broadcast Identifiers, etc. Develop new technologies and services –Green initiatives –M2M Support 5
