1. Directions 1.Save a shortcut to the following website on the student shared/ first grade folder. http://www.kidsbiology.com/animals-for-children.phphttp://www.kidsbiology.com/animals-for-children.php 2.Place the students in groups of three. Have the children us the website to research different kind of animals. Tell the children that each student is to choose a different animal. When they find the animal of their choice, have them write the name of the animal on a slip of paper. 3.Add your class name and date to slide 2 and print it out. Then, delete this slide and slide 2 and save only slide 3 (animal template) to the Student server/ first grade folder. 4.Have one student from each group login and navigate to the animal template that you saved to the server. Each student gets to click on the add clipart and use their slip of paper to type in the name of their animal and search for appropriate clipart. Have the other 2 students do the same. 5.Once there are 3 animals on the slide, the group then discusses their animals to find 4 things that they have in common. They type each attribute or characteristic in a box in the table at the bottom right. 6.Once they have completed the table, they click next to By and type their names. 7.Each group prints their slide. Combine all the pages behind your cover page (see step 3) to create a class book.
