3.  Electoral college- group of electors from around the country  Electoral votes- votes cast by electors for the president and vice president

4.  Before becoming a presidential candidate, individuals must win their party’s nomination  This happens at their political party’s convention  Platform- statement of a party’s views and policies on important issues

5.  Vice presidential candidates are usually chosen for their ability to win votes  The presidential candidate has the biggest say in deciding who will be the vice presidential candidate
