Technology Changes ICT AND INNOVATIVE CLASSROOM PRACTICE Prepared by: Jennifer c. sabote Bsoa - 4

DEFINITION OF TERMS: ICT – Information, Communication and Technology. INNOVATIVE – The process of introducing that is something new. PEDAGOGICAL CHANGE – The process of change in method of teaching.

ICT AND INNOVATIVE CLASSROOM PRACTICES  The focus in ICT and changes in classroom pedagogical practices.  On using computers to make traditional education more effective or efficient.  In the changing methods, curricular goals, or patterned social interactions, supported by the computer.

 Computers provide informations, providing feedback and reinforcement.  Computers could supplement a teacher’s traditional direct instruction.

COMPUTER and its Roles  Did not challenge the traditional classroom model. Rather, support the students as they produced some classroom product.  An artificial of the new uses of ICT that were making their way into their business at the time had relatively few implications of peda- gogical change.

 The products that students produced were often electric versions of term paper, lab reports and other products.  through computers, these often were pro- duce perhaps more efficiently.

ICT and its Functions  According Seymour Papert, the functions centered on a new set of activities that the students would do with the computer.  According to JEAN PIAGER, he termed a notion of “CONSTRUCTIONISM” others termed it as a “ CONTSRUCTIVISM”

 CONSTRUCTIONISM refers to the activity of students on the programs to the computer.  It became a tool of expression, exploration and inquiry.  Teachers and Students have accrued a significant amount of experience in the classroom using the technologies and it evolves around the use of ICT.

Technology played an important role in supporting these practices by enabling students to search for information, collect and analyze data, produce report and other products and communicate with others.
