The specific uniform required for Burton Technology Academy High School is as follows and applies to all students: Tops : Every Student must wear a short sleeve/ long sleeve BTA logo dress or polo shirt. Full- zipper or full button jacket or sweater Undershirts : Only black, white or grey solid undershirts will be permitted Spirit Shirts: Burton t-shirts bearing the school crest, any college or university t-shirt Tucked in Shirts : All uniform shirts will be tucked in for the entire day, while on school grounds and/or school activities. The specific uniform required for Burton Technology Academy High School is as follows and applies to all students: Clothing Size : Relaxing fit, including pants and shirts, should not be tightly fitted or no larger than one size of the student’s regular clothing size Bottoms : Solid black dress pants/slacks or any brand uniform- style pants that are well-sized relaxed fit, skirts/shorts relaxed fit at knee-length and dress style, not casual, cut-off or cargo. Skirts & Shorts : If wearing skirts or shorts, they must be knee- length and relaxed fit. UNIFORM POLICY BOTTOMS

The specific uniform required for Burton Technology Academy High School is as follows and applies to all students: Footwear : Black, white or gray shoes. All footwear must have closed toes and heel straps. No house shoes, slippers, or sandals of any kind are allowed. Accessories : Including, but not limited to, scarfs, ties, belts, socks, shoelaces, shoes, and head/hair wear, such as ribbons, headbands, and clips, must be black, white, grey or any combination of the three colors. Students must purchased embroidered school logo. Students will be issued one (1) patch/logo at the beginning of the school year, but may purchase additional school logo patches. The logo patch must be sewn onto the clothing item. NON-BURTON TECH’S SWEATSHIRTS, JACKETS, SPORT COATS/BLAZERS, SWEATERS AND VEST

Students will be issued one (1) free shirt based on their grade level credits at the time of distribution. Students will be able to purchase uniform shirts if they earned the proper number of credits to be in that grade level and complete community service hours. UNIFORM PURCHASE

Any pants that are not dress pants/slacks or uniform-style pants Inappropriately tight and/or short clothing as determined by administration Low-rise and/or hip-hugger pants Tights / leggings worn as pants Clothing with holes, especially if they reveal flesh Open-toed shoes Caps, hats, bandanas, hoods, and beanies Pull-over sweatshirts regardless of color Clothing worn inside out Any clothing that does not properly cover the body Any clothing that may be construed as having gang – affiliation (colored shoelaces, initialed belt buckles, cut- out belts, “sagging”/oversized clothing, etc.) PROHIBITED ITEMS

Any student out of the dress code is required to wear the loaner uniform and return to classes until the end of the day. Students must return loaner uniform to office at the end of the day. Any loaner uniforms that are not returned to the office by the student will be charged to the parents/guardians. LOANER UNIFORM

UNIFORM VIOLATIONS Students are expected to be responsible for coming to school in uniform prepared to learn and to check their own attire. Please be aware that all staff will conduct uniform checks routinely. Students who are not in compliance with the uniform policy will be sent to the office to wear loaner uniform.

UNIFORM VIOLATIONS Students who are not in Dress Code will be assigned a 1-hour detention and will be required wear school loaner clothing before returning to class. Any attire that may be a distraction will be collected until the end of the school day. Distracting attire includes, but is not limited to, accessories such as extra clothing pieces, and excessive and/or large pieces of jewelry. Parents are required and pick up any collected items
