Since 2007, CIHI has collected data on the supply, distribution and practice characteristics of physiotherapists in Canada.

5 5 Percentage Growth of Supply of Physiotherapists, Labour Force and Overall Population, Canada, 2008 to 2012 Since 2008, the supply of registered physiotherapists has grown by over 16%, more than four times the growth rate of the Canadian labour force.

8 8 Physiotherapist Workforce by Age Group, Canada, 2008 and 2012 While the proportion of physiotherapists age 60 and older continues to grow, the proportion of physiotherapists younger than 30 has decreased since 2008.
