1 Mid Day Meal Scheme MDM-PAB Meeting –PUDUCHERRY On 2. 5. 2014 Ministry of HRD Government of India

2 Review of Implementation of MDMS in PUDUCHERRY (Primary + Upper Primary) (1.4.2013 to 31.12.2013) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

3 Best Practices  Centralized (13) / Cluster kitchens run by UT Govt.  UT is providing Rs.6.15/day/child for cooking cost at Primary and Rs.4.23 /day/ Upper Primary level, which is more than mandatory share.  MDM is extended to the students studying up to pre primary and 9-12th.  UT administration implements the Rajiv Gandhi Break Fast scheme under which 100ml of milk and 35gm of biscuits are given to students.  Egg is given to students twice in a week. It has now been decided to provide eggs to students on all working days.  RO system with multiple water tap for hand washing.  Purchase of diet articles is made only through Govt. shops (Papsico).

4 ISSUES 1.Food grains and cooking cost data not entered in MIS web portal. 2.ATN on JRM recommendations and separate MME plan - not submitted. 3.Only 27% schools inspected. 4.Less utilization of FG and CC. 5.No utilization of Kitchen Shed funds 6.AWP&B 2014-15 not submitted through MIS web portal.
