3 What is Blackboard? Blackboard 5 is a comprehensive and flexible e- Learning software platform that delivers a course management system. *Provides a flexible mechanism to provide information to students – i.e., course materials, assignments, resources references, grade information, etc. *Provided both asynchronous and synchronous means of communicating with students.

4 Purpose of Session To provide a brief overview of the features of Blackboard and relate my experiences in using Blackboard in MBA courses.

5 Blackboard from a Faculty Member’s Perspective Use of Blackboard had a positive impact on the learning environment provided to students. Use of Blackboard decreased the cost to the College of providing materials to students. Use of Blackboard had a positive impact on my evaluations by students.
