9. Not enough to meet a demand. Oysters that contain pearls are scarce to find.

10. Something that blocks or stands in the way An obstacle was placed in front of the pothole in the road.

11. To cause to move from one place to another. The doctor transfers the patient with the use of the wheel chair.
