Subject - Unit XX Unit 5 – Electrical and electronic circuits and systems Resistors Resistors are used in almost every electronic circuit. They are used to control the flow of current and provide precise voltages. Values are in Ω, kΩ and MΩ. Their accuracy, or tolerance, is measured as a percentage deviation from the exact ideal value that they should be. They have a power rating – the maximum amount of power that they can dissipate.

Subject - Unit XX Unit 5 – Electrical and electronic circuits and systems Resistor markings Carbon and metal oxide resistors are marked according to a colour code. Four and five band codes are in common use. Other resistor types have values written on them.
