1. EDUCATION IN POLAND

2. In Poland children under 7 years old go to pre-primary school called przedszkole. Children from 6 or 7 to 13 years old go to primary school called szkoła podstawowa, where they learn for 6 years. Then they go to lower secondary general school called gimnazjum and after 3 years take compulsory exam. When they are 17, they learn for three years in upper secondary school called liceum or for four years in upper secondary vocational called technikum. Both end with maturity exam. Then they can take tertiary education.

3. PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL Polish children go to pre-primary school for minimum 2 years. They play more than learn there. Last year in pre-primary school is called „0” year. 3-6 years old

4. PRIMARY SCHOOL In primary school polish students learn for 6 years (3 years with about 4 subjects and 3 years with about 11 subjects). At the end of sixth class they write compulsory exam. 6-13 years old

5. LOWER SECONDARY GENERAL SCHOOL In lower secondary general school students learn for 3 years. They have more subjects than in primary school. At the end of third year they write compulsory exam. 14-16 years old

6. UPPER SECONDARY GENERAL SCHOOL In upper secondary general school students learn for 3 years. They prepare to maturity exam, which is written in third year. 17-19 years old
