2 Making Introductions Look to more important person Say person’s name. “I would like you to meet…” Say other person’s name. Say something about the person.

3 Completing Introduction Say other person’s name. “this is...” Say something about the person. Say the person’s name.

4 Sample Introduction “Dr. Smith, I would like you to meet my sister Jan Edwards, who is going to have lunch with me today.” “Jan, this is the president of our college, Dr. Marie Smith.”

5 Repeating the person’s name Immediately following introduction, repeat the person’s name. “Nice to meet you Jan, where are you going for lunch?” “Dr. Smith, my sister tells me that you have made wonderful changes to the college.”

6 I forget your name! Introduce the person! “I am sorry, I forget your last name.” “A friend of mine is coming. How would you like me to introduce you?” “I am sorry, how did you pronounce your last name?”

7 Overview of Introductions Introduce, Introduce, Introduce! Say names as often as possible. Say something about each person. Take your time and speak clearly.

8 Question How would you introduce a new friend to your parents? “Mom, Dad, I would like to introduce Jenn, who is in my Business Technology class. Jenn these are my wonderful parents.”
