SWBAT: Define Total War, analyze how the technology created during WWI changed how wars were fought by participating in class discussions, and answering questions based on notes and readings from the textbook.

Despite taking place mostly in Europe, WWI every major region of the world was effected.
Fighting occurred in Africa, Middle East and Asia.
How do you think Africa Middle East got involved?
Total War- war which involves all of society NOT JUST THOSE FIGHTING. There was a blur of civilians and military.

3. Economic Effects
Shortages and rations of supplies (for civilians and military persons).
Governments began taking over more to be able to meet the demands of war
Women began working in new jobs to replace men who were in the military.
