Blood Pressure Blood Pressure-force of blood in the arteries Systolic (out) vs. Diastolic (in) (120/80) Hypertension- elevated BP Can be largely genetic

Heart Rate Find pulse and count beats/minute Max HR= 220-age or VO2 Max Test 60-80% of Max HR= aerobic benefit 20+ min/3+ times week

Influences on Cardiovascular Endurance Age (decline.5ml/kg body weight) Heredity (initial and capacity to improve) Muscle content (Fast twitch vs. slow twitch) Gender (males due to higher hemoglobin levels and less body fat) Body Composition % of fat to lean body tissue (muscle, bone, water) Level of Conditioning (20+min at a HR between 60-80% of max)
