Seeing things differently... What do you see? Do different religions see God differently, or are some ways of seeing God just not the same?

God is everything, and God is in everything eg rocks, trees PANTHEISM Which ways of seeing God - Could be describing the Christian God? - Could definitely NOT be describing the Christian God? God just made everything at the beginning, he isn’t around now DEISM God is an all- loving, all- powerful, all- knowing Spirit THEISM There are 2 equal “gods” – a god of evil and a god of good, fighting it out in a massive cosmic battle DUALISM There isn’t one god, there are many, each of them with a different job to do on this earth POLYTHEISM 1.Explain which way IS like Christianity and why 2.Explain why 2 of these ways of seeing God is NOT like Christianity. Explain what that way is saying, then explain how it is different. **How is the God of Theism different from the God of Deism?

Theism is the belief that God is a non-physical, spiritual uncreated (not made) all-powerful (omnipotent) all-knowing (omniscient) all- good (omnibenevolent) Creator God. If God is the Supreme Being (our definition of God), why does He HAVE to be these 5 things? 1.Define the meaning of omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent. *What “clues” can you give yourself to remember these words? 2.Complete the sentences below with the matching phrases in blue 3.Explain which of these characteristics of God would make the biggest difference for you. **Would God still be God if He was different from this? Why/ why not 1.If God was CREATED then.. 2.If God was physical and not SPIRITUAL then.. 3.If God was not ALL-POWERFUL then.. 4.If God was not ALL-KNOWING then.. 5.If God was not ALL-LOVING then.. a.There would be things He didn’t know about b.There would be things that would attack him and He couldn’t be everywhere c.There would be something greater than God that made Him d.There would be things happening outside of His power and control e.He would not be good, or perfect, and he would not care for us.
